How to Start Coaching & Make Your First $5K

3-P Method for Coaching Success

There's a big misconception in the online business world:

The belief that it takes years of struggle to succeed.

How do I know that people believe this? Because I've talked to hundreds of aspiring internet entrepreneurs.

And most of them think it's an unfortunate fact of life.

So, why is this thought so pervasive?

Because many of the success stories we've read followed this path.

JK Molina (one of the founders of Tweet Hunter) recently talked about several hustles he pursued for years without success. Then he finally made 6-figures as a ghostwriter.

This theme is prevalent.

People like Dakota Robertson, Dan Koe, and celebrities like Kanye do it. They've all shared the difficult years preceding their success.

Heck, I wanted to be an entrepreneur for 19 years before making it a reality.

But we need to be careful. We don't want to mistake correlation for causation.

There's No Requirement for How Long You Need to Struggle

If you look at people who are struggling, they're doing the wrong things. Or only some of the right things, but never all of them.

Dakota recently shared how, early on, he spent too much time focusing on the wrong things. And his lack of growth confirmed it.

He went into more detail in his email. But once he focused on the right levers, his growth took off (look at him now lol).

Once he found a winning formula — like providing value and connecting with like-minded people who were growing — his own success followed.

Know this:

You don't have to struggle.

It's just that most people do before they find a process that works for them.

But there's no requirement for how long you need to struggle.

It could be days. It could be decades.

I ventured into online business in 2015 and made little money for years.

In 2020, I hired Jose Rosado to coach me. In those eight weeks, I made more money than I did in the previous five years.

I didn't need to struggle for five years. It just took that long to find the right levers to pull.

My client Riley Anderson is a perfect example:

He joined Twitter in May 2022. He started growing his audience, created an offer, and made a couple of sales in a short span of time.

He was pulling some of the right levers from the get-go.

Then, he hired me. We improved his program, his offer, and his sales skills. He started doing more things right.

Two months into coaching, he made a handful of sales and quit his 9-5.

He joined Twitter eight months ago. And he already has a portfolio of clients and success stories.

It didn't require years of struggling.

The Real Reason People Succeed

Success only has two requirements:

  1. You need to do the right things
  2. You need to do them well

Occasionally, this happens by chance.

Some people get lucky and choose a path that works from the start.

But this is not the norm. And relying on luck is not a good way to control your future.

If you want to do the right things and do them well, there's a better way:

  1. Learn what to do
  2. Learn how to do it

This is why I teach people how to build online coaching businesses. I help them avoid years of unnecessary struggle so they can achieve their goals ASAP.

I also chose coaching because it's one of the simplest online businesses to start.

What Makes Online Coaching so Simple?

Telling people that online coaching is simple isn't some marketing gimmick.

I believe this deep into my core.

Here's why:

1. Coaching doesn't require a big audience.

Want to make $5,000 every month selling $19 ebooks?

You need to sell 263 copies...every month!

Converting 2% of your audience into customers one time is realistic.

Converting 2% of your audience into customers every month is a stretch. But let's say you're a pro and do this.

You need more than 12,000 followers. And you have to push your ebook constantly.

This isn't the case with coaching.

If you sell a $2,000 program, three sales per month nets you $6,000.

You don't need a big audience to do this.

2. Coaching is low-tech.

I tried dropshipping and ecom. I ran an online community.

There's nothing wrong with these business models when done right. But they are tech-heavy.

You need software, apps, plugins, and automation to run them. It takes time to learn. The setup is tedious and frustrating.

Once it's running, it's not bad. But when you run into issues or want to make a change, the headaches mount.

Managing operations is a significant part of your job and it's not fun.

Days become filled with admin and grunt work. Instead of thinking strategically, you get to put out fires.

Coaching, on the other hand, is low-tech. You only need a calendar setup and payment processor.

As you scale, you might create a website, newsletter, or landing page. But this is much simpler than the tech required in most other online businesses.

3. Coaching is low management.

With freelancing, you have to manage client work and deadlines.

With an agency, you have to manage employees or contractors.

With dropshipping and ecom, you have to manage VAs (if you don't want to manage customer support and other tedious tasks).

With retreats, you have to prepare and handle logistics.

Again, none of these are inherently bad. But they have added headaches that coaching doesn't.

Coaches need to manage a calendar. They need to show up to calls prepared. And many need to manage accountability check-ins.

As far as fulfillment goes, that's it.

Coaching is easy to manage.

4. Learning client fulfillment can happen fast for coaches.

You likely have most of the skills to help people achieve their biggest goal (which is what you do as a coach).

If you've achieved this goal for yourself or helped others in some capacity, you likely know what it takes.

And even if you don't, that's fine. Improving this ability doesn't take long.

There are simple hacks to keep people motivated and committed to making quick progress. These skills are not hard to learn.

5. Coaches make money as they learn.

With most businesses, you don't make money learning how to better serve your audience.

Sure, you can presell your course, test demand, and get paid before creating it.

But you don't get feedback on your course until you create and deliver it.

As a coach, you can sell a program with only an offer. You can build the program as you provide your service.

Each coaching call provides feedback, teaching you what works and what doesn't.

Each week, you learn, improve, and make your program better. All this after getting paid upfront.

Is Coaching this Simple?

Yes. Coaching is this simple.

It doesn't mean it's easy. It doesn't mean other business models are dumb or bad.

But it is ideal for those who want to help others make personal changes that matter.

It's easier to get started. You build valuable, scalable skills faster. And, as a beginner, you monetize sooner.

Succeed with Coaching Using the 3-P Method

You don't need much to succeed with coaching.

In fact, you only need three things.

  1. Performance
  2. Persuasion
  3. Product-Market Fit

These make up the 3-P Method, an easy way to focus your attention on lever-moving tasks:

1. Performance: You need the ability to help people achieve their #1 goal.

For low-priced offers, people are willing to pay for their wants.

You might buy a new mop for $50 because it makes cleaning easier.

But you won't pay $3,000 for a cleaning coach if it's not your biggest goal.

Why? Because investing in coaching requires significant resources. Not just money, but time and energy as well.

And people don't want to take energy away from their biggest goals.

Example: Let's say you hate your job and all you think about is building a side-hustle to get out of it. You won't invest in a fitness trainer even if you want to get in shape.

Because that would steal energy from your highest priority.

You might start working out and eating healthier. But most of your free time, money, and energy will go to figuring out how to succeed with your side hustle. (If you don't use cheap dopamine to escape reality and silence your goals.)

No one wants to invest thousands to distract themselves from what matters.

That's why it's so important to figure out your market's biggest goal.

Then, you need to get great at helping them achieve it.

Fortunately, helping people make change is a learnable skill. And once you learn it, you set the stage to become a thriving coach.

2. Persuasion: You need the ability to convince people that your solution is what they need.

It doesn't matter how good you are at helping people if they don't believe it or know about your services.

Basic copywriting and sales skills are a must.

Fortunately, you can learn what you need from your market and a mentor or coach.

When you talk to your market, you figure out what they want and why so you can position your offer properly.

When you get a coach or mentor, you can learn the other nuances of persuasion within your market. Things that your market won't tell you, like ways to be relatable, likable, and believable.

Then, you need one more thing:

3. Product-Market Fit: You need the ability to find people who want your offer and will pay for it.

It doesn't matter how good your sales and marketing skills are if you can't find prospects in the first place.

Fortunately, these people are everywhere. Millions of people want to improve their health, wealth, or relationships more than anything else.

Because of this, they're willing to pay good money to do it (if they believe it will work).

Most people struggle with this for two reasons:

  1. They target people who want what they offer, but it's not their most important goal.
  2. They don't make it clear to the prospect that this is the solution to their biggest goal.

You solve this by learning their biggest goals and positioning your offer as the best solution.

This simple process makes coaching ideal for many aspiring entrepreneurs.

What Else Does Coaching Success Require?

I'm not trying to pull the veil over your eyes.

Everything mentioned above is high-level. It doesn't explain every step required to succeed as a coach.

You need to do other things like:

  • Define your niche and positioning
  • Come up with a content plan
  • Create a program outline and offer
  • Set up and perform your daily networking and content habits
  • Hone your sales skills
  • Build and improve your full coaching program

And you may choose to add more:

  • Website
  • Newsletter
  • Landing page
  • Build an audience
  • Inbound lead generation

But this doesn't take away from the simplicity of coaching. All the benefits mentioned before still apply.

The best part?

You can do the hard work upfront while you build awareness and generate warm leads.

As you research your market, you can define your niche and positioning. You can also generate warm leads.

As you work with your first clients, you can build out your program.

And once you create your assets — like your landing page, content plan, offer, program, etc. — you only need to stick to a few daily habits.

Sure, you may update them as you learn more about your market and fulfillment process. But other than that, the leg work is done.

This is the main thing you want to internalize:

You can build your coaching business while getting paid by clients.

And once it's built, maintenance is simple.

I don't know a better way to make your first $5,000 online.

And once you do that, you have a system to keep making this type of money every month on a consistent basis.

On top of that, once you make it there, it's easy to increase prices and scale. So you can move beyond $5,000 and into the 6-figure per year territory.

If you want to make your first $5,000 online and build a business where you:

  • Do work you love
  • Have full control over your schedule
  • Can scale without limits

Coaching is the fastest, easiest, and simplest way. (If you want to help people achieve their personal goals.)

How to Get Your First $5,000 from Coaching ASAP

Want the easiest system to build an online coaching business, make your first $5K, and do it every month?

I created a program just for you:

The $5K Coaching Fast Track

How does this stand out from other programs in the market?

Most existing programs help people grow their online businesses.

I see them often and I'm guessing you have too.

But they focus on one of two things:

  • Helping you grow an existing business
  • Helping you grow an audience

I don't see any that focus on helping you create a successful coaching business from scratch.

What good is landing clients if you can't fulfill your promise? (This happened to me when I offered social skills coaching. Trust me, it's not fun.)

What good is growing an audience if you don't have a high-quality program to offer?

And how long will it take? And will those followers buy from you when you do create an offer?

I've worked 1-on-1 with clients for the last year and a half.

They've built coaching businesses that make money and create successful clients regularly.

And now I have a fool-proof system to help you too.

We don't just dial in your niche and positioning.

We don't just create a kickass offer, generate leads, and make sales.

We also create a program that gets your clients results.

And we make you stand out from the crowd.

I've helped people like Coach Raj, Riley, and Joep take their coaching to the next level.

How?

I make the process fun, easy, straightforward, and sustainable.

You know what to do at every stage of the process.

You become motivated, committed, and excited to build the business of your dreams.

And most importantly, you get results, guaranteed.

With the $5K Coaching Fast Track...

I work with you every step of the way.

And I guarantee...

You'll make your first $5K from coaching and have the process in place to keep making that type of money.

It includes:

  • The Online Coaching Blueprint. A step-by-step course that teaches you exactly how to build a sustainable online coaching business.
  • Weekly Group Coaching Calls. Get direct feedback on all your questions and learn from your peers on a similar journey.
  • The $5K Coaching Community. A place to interact and meet like-minded people. Get quick feedback from me and other experts on your content, strategy, and struggles.
  • The Accountability Hacking System. A one-of-a-kind system to keep you motivated and consistent throughout the program.
  • The Progress Tracker. Know which actions to complete and habits you need at each stage of the process and exactly how to make them easy, fun, and sustainable.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I packed this program with resources and strategies to make sure you succeed.

But I also make the process simple, clear, and easy to follow.

You get the high-level strategy so you become an online business expert. But you also get the exact steps to put this knowledge to use.

This is why I can guarantee success.

And guarantee it I do. I promise, with a full money-back guarantee, that you will make your first $5,000. If not, you get all your money back.

Zero risk.

All you have to do is follow the process.

And if you do, you're guaranteed to make your entire investment in the program back. You either make all your money back in coaching sales (plus more), or I give you your money back.
